He surely stole my heart.

He's full of boundless energy,

The ornery kind, you know

Not one little ounce of him

Does anything too slow.

He runs on pure adrenaline

The kind that makes life fun

You can't make this boy walk

When all he can do is run.

He's turning five years old today

I can't believe it's so

I wan to bring him home with me

I want to watch him grow!

Not too old to run,  but not as  quickly.

Not too old to run after a toddler, but needs to run quickly

Not too old to stay up til at least midnight, if you dare, but prefers the 10 o'clock hour.

Not too old to flash that smile that shows me who you are.
